ARM servers for Genymotion SaaS!

Overview

ARM servers are now available in Genymotion SaaS.

This release is a major milestone for the Genymotion SaaS platform.

Android virtual devices can run directly on ARM architecture.

The ARM environment mirrors real Android smartphones.

The emulator experience and development are closer to real-world conditions.

Why ARM servers are a Game-Changer

Most Android devices use ARM architecture.

Running virtual devices on ARM servers provides advantages for developers.

Previously, Genymotion SaaS supported only x86 and x86_64 architectures.

ARM translation tools could cause performance, accuracy, and compatibility issues.

Our new ARM servers are equipped with powerful GPUs.

GPU acceleration enables faster rendering, smoother simulations, and more accurate testing.

GPU acceleration helps with graphics-intensive apps and games.

Whether working on a resource-heavy game or an app with complex graphics, the emulator matches real-world conditions.

With ARM architecture support, more apps are available from the Google Play Store.

You can install popular apps like TikTok and Instagram.

You can also run games such as Roblox or Free Fire.

Running ARM apps natively enables more precise testing and better optimization.

As a result, apps perform more like they do on real ARM-powered smartphones and tablets.

ARM server capabilities

ARM servers are equipped with powerful GPUs.

GPU power enhances the performance of graphics-intensive apps.

This enables smoother rendering and more accurate testing.

ARM architecture support increases the range of apps from the Google Play Store.

Roblox and Free Fire are available on ARM virtual devices.

Seamless transition and CLI integration

Existing customers can use pre-configured arm64 official recipes from the dashboard.

ARM64 official OS images can be used to create custom virtual devices.

Users can start ARM virtual devices directly.

A new version of the gmsaas CLI has been released.

The CLI supports ARM-powered virtual devices and existing features such as listing, starting, and stopping devices.

The CLI also supports secure connections to devices via Android Debug Bridge (ADB).

Upgrading gmsaas to the latest version is mandatory to ensure compatibility and full feature access.

Key benefits of using ARM-powered virtual devices

ARM compatibility

Most Android devices run on ARM processors.

The release ensures apps are fully compatible with ARM architecture.

If users were previously limited to ARM builds only, this release unlocks the ability to use Genymotion in development.

Faster debugging cycles

Running apps natively on ARM hardware enables quicker, more accurate debugging and performance testing.

This helps identify issues that may have been hidden or altered on x86 hardware.

Seamless app deployment

ARM servers streamline the deployment process.

Users can test exactly what will be seen on actual customer devices.

GPU acceleration

Powerful GPUs in ARM servers enhance the performance of graphics-intensive apps.

This results in smoother rendering and more accurate testing.

Apps availability

ARM architecture support increases app availability from the Google Play Store.
