Section 1: Getting started with Genymotion Cloud on Alibaba Cloud ECS

This document provides a hands-on, end-to-end walkthrough for deploying a Genymotion Cloud virtual device on Alibaba Cloud’s Elastic Compute Service (ECS). It begins by guiding you to select the Genymotion Cloud version that matches the target Android OS image: options include Android 5.1 (Lollipop), 6.0 (Marshmallow), 7.0 (Nougat), and 8.0 (Oreo). After selecting the appropriate version, you proceed to choose a plan and configure the virtual device. The configuration workflow is outlined in a series of steps: maintain Custom for ECS settings; set Billing Method to Pay-As-You-Go; pick a Region and Zone for resource locality and data storage; choose the Instance type to define vCPU and memory, with additional options for Architecture and Category. The final steps include saving a launch template, agreeing to Terms of Service, creating the instance, and opening the console. After initialization, the instance starts and becomes accessible via the public IP; the log-in uses the username “genymotion” with the password equal to the Instance ID.
