Genymotion Desktop has just been updated to 3.3.3. This minor upgrade brings compatibility with VirtualBox 7.0 on macOS. It is now possible to use Genymotion with VirtualBox on macOS Ventura. The update also adds video and image re-framing and GIF support. Details follow.
Camera improvements
Camera orientation
The camera orientation was fixed.
In Desktop 3.3.2, the camera preview had the wrong orientation.
The same issue occurred when taking a picture.
The new behavior treats the input image as a scene that stands behind or beyond the device, depending on the selected Android camera (back or front).
The input image will not rotate with the virtual device.
For example, turning the device upside down does not rotate the input image in the camera preview.
To support landscape input images on devices with a natural portrait orientation, a re-frame option was introduced. This option lets users choose how input images are treated.
Modes
Crop mode: input image is cropped to fit the device orientation.
Keep aspect: all input image pixels are kept but margins are added to fit the device orientation.
Resize: no treatment is done; input image is scaled to fit device orientation.
In Desktop 3.3.3, animated image (GIF) support was added. Regarding input images, Desktop 3.3.2 and earlier allowed PNG, JPG, BMP, and SVG images as camera input. In Desktop 3.3.3, GIF support is now available.
