We’re delighted to announce a new release of Genymotion Desktop. The release includes new features as well as bug fixes.
New features
New Widget: Biometrics
Biometrics is a new widget.
Biometrics allows fingerprint authentication of Android apps.
Note that at the time of writing, only Android 13 is supported.
The feature will be backported to previous versions soon.
To enable biometrics, add a fingerprint in Android once.
Then control everything in the Biometrics widget.
Media injection
Chosen input and crop mode for each Android camera are persistent after reboot of virtual devices.
The persistence means the widget does not need to be opened again if there are no changes to make.
genyshell
Genyshell is now compatible with QEMU.
A new option -n is added.
The -n option allows specifying a device name to use by default.
QEMU
QEMU becomes the default hypervisor on Linux/macOS.
The quickboot feature can be disabled on a specific virtual device if preferred.
The usage of Host CPU is improved.
