Overview
Group quotas exist in Genymotion SaaS.
Group quotas allow administrators to control the number of devices allocated to groups.
A quota is set per group.
Sub-groups can also have quotas.
Allocated devices per group cannot exceed the organization’s maximum devices.
For sub-groups, the maximum devices that can be allocated equals the parent group’s allocated devices.
The number of allocated devices for each group and sub-group is displayed in the Groups dashboard page.
Creating quotas
Creating a group quota is possible when creating a group.
To create a quota, uncheck “Use organization resources pool” (or “Use parent group resources pool” if this is a sub-group) in the Allocated devices per group field.
Use the slider or the number box to set the amount of devices to allocate.
Note that you cannot allocate more devices than the organization maximum devices.
For sub-groups, the maximum devices that can be allocated equals the number of allocated devices of the parent group.
For example, create a sub-group called Freelancers from the group Avengers, which has 12 allocated devices.
Uncheck “Use parent resources pool” and use the slider to allocate devices to the sub-group.
Once done, the number of allocated devices for each group and sub-group is displayed in the Groups dashboard page.
Editing quotas
Group quotas can be changed after creation by editing the group or sub-group settings.
Click next to the group or sub-group to modify.
This will open the Edit Group window.
Uncheck “Use organization/parent group resources pool” and use the slider to allocate devices to the group.
Finally, click CONFIRM to apply the change.
