Can I install Genymotion on a VirtualBox virtual machine?

❌ NO. Genymotion Desktop is designed to run on a physical environment and does not work if you install it within a virtual machine (Windows, Linux or macOS). The support pages clearly indicate that Genymotion Desktop does not work on VMs, servers, or cloud instances; on macOS, they also recommend (when applicable) using the QEMU hypervisor instead of VirtualBox, but equally on physical hardware.

For reference:

• The VirtualBox DHCP server has not assigned an IP address to the virtual device
• macOS - An error has occurred while trying to create a virtualbox host-only network interface
• Linux - An error has occurred while trying to create a virtualbox host-only network interface

If you need an alternative: run Genymotion Desktop on the host physical machine, or consider Genymotion Cloud (SaaS) if you want to avoid local installation.
