Genymotion Desktop 3.4 is out and comes with tons of new features. Let’s take a quick tour!
Apple Silicon support (M1/M2 chip) with Android native ARM
After a 2 months beta period, Genymotion Desktop announced the official support of Apple Silicon chips for Genymotion Desktop.
For now, only Android 11 is available. More Android versions will come.
Android native ARM64 image is available. The Android native ARM64 image makes the emulators compatible with all ARM64/armv8 native apps. The Android native ARM64 image makes the emulators compatible with almost all applications from the Google Play store.
Skins
Desktop 3.4 supports skins.
Desktop 3.4 includes a pack of default skins. The pack includes two regular phone skins. The pack includes two gaming / streaming oriented tablet skins.
Desktop 3.4 also includes custom skins support. Custom skins support allows creating a branded skin. A branded skin can be used in the emulator.
Advanced developer tools widget
Genymotion introduced a new widget for developers.
The widget allows quick access to most used Android Developer Options. More Android Developer Options will be added.
Feedback is requested about tools and features to see in the widget in the future.
Multi-display support
Android introduced the ability to connect external displays since Android 9. Genymotion added this feature in the emulator too.
The emulator can add up to three extra displays depending on the Android version used.
Multi-display support is still experimental. Multi-display support should work fine in most situation.
