How to enable hardware virtualization (VT-x/SVM) on Windows 11?

Hardware virtualization is mandatory to use Genymotion Desktop. Fortunately, all modern CPUs support hardware virtualization (VT-x/SVM), but this feature is sometimes disabled by default. To enable it, you need to access your machine BIOS. On most computers, the BIOS is accessible by pressing a specific key on boot usually mentioned in the computer user guide. However, it may be tricky to access it on machines with Windows 11 pre-installed. To access your BIOS from Windows 11, please follow these instructions: 1. Select the search button on your taskbar and search for "settings", as shown below: 2. Under Settings, click on the "Windows Update" tab on the left-bottom and then, select "Advanced options": 3. Under the "Recovery" tab, click on "Restart now" available in front of Advanced startup: You will now be presented with 4 options to choose from. Click on Troubleshoot. Next, click on Advanced Options. Within the Advanced options, select UEFI Firmware Settings, as shown below: NOTE: If you don't see UEFI Firmware Settings, then disable Fast Startup. You will now be prompted to restart your machine. Click on Restart Now. 4. Once you have entered the BIOS settings in your PC, the steps for enabling virtualization will vary according to the CPU you have. If you have an Intel CPU, the option to enable should be called "Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-X)", on AMD CPU, the feature to enable should be called "SVM Mode".
