Does Genymotion Desktop on Windows require VirtualBox or QEMU?
search_website("virtual box")
VirtualBox is the recommended hypervisor for Genymotion Desktop on Windows. On Linux and macOS, Genymotion recommends QEMU instead, and VirtualBox is not recommended.
- On Windows, Genymotion Desktop uses VirtualBox host-only adapters for network communication.
- If you see host-only network errors on Windows, common fixes include removing extra VirtualBox host-only interfaces or disabling and re-enabling the adapter.
- If VirtualBox still fails on some Windows hardware, QEMU can be an alternative, but it is experimental on Windows.
- On macOS and Linux, Genymotion Desktop is designed to use QEMU as the default and recommended hypervisor.
