Does Genymotion Desktop on Windows require VirtualBox or QEMU?

VirtualBox is the recommended hypervisor for Genymotion Desktop on Windows. On Linux and macOS, Genymotion recommends QEMU instead, and VirtualBox is not recommended.

• On Windows, Genymotion Desktop uses VirtualBox host-only adapters for network communication.
• If you see host-only network errors on Windows, common fixes include removing extra VirtualBox host-only interfaces or disabling and re-enabling the adapter.
• If VirtualBox still fails on some Windows hardware, QEMU can be an alternative, but it is experimental on Windows.
