Which Genymotion plan includes a rootless device?
Rootless Genymotion device plan
- Genymotion does not offer a universally “rootless” image by default. Most images are rooted by default, but you can toggle root off for certain Android versions depending on the environment:
- Genymotion Desktop: Android 5.5–11 are rooted by default (no action needed). For Android 12+ you can toggle root via the Desktop user manual.
- Genymotion SaaS: All images are rooted by default, with Android 13 (arm64) and Android 14 exceptions; you can toggle root for those versions per the SaaS user manual.
- Genymotion Device Image: Android 9.0 and below are rooted by default; Android 10.0+ images are not rooted by default and can be toggled per the Device Image user guide.
- If your goal is to run an image without root, choose a version that is not rooted by default and use the corresponding manual to toggle root off.

Would you like me to check which specific image/version you’re planning to use (Desktop SaaS or Device Image) and confirm the exact steps to disable root for that version?
