How to fix issues on Windows with laptops using hybrid graphics (dual GPU)?

Overview of hybrid graphics

Hybrid graphics is a hardware configuration in which you have two graphics cards that can work in tandem with each other.

Integrated graphics (iGPU) is the graphics processor built into the CPU.

Discrete graphics (dGPU) is a separate graphics processor such as NVIDIA or AMD.

Normally, the display drivers should be able to detect when an application requires high performance graphics.

This usually fails with Genymotion Desktop on Windows.

It is necessary to force the high performance GPU globally.

Important: driver updates

Make sure to use the latest drivers for both the integrated (iGPU) and discrete (dGPU) graphics processing units.

If not, update your drivers before proceeding.

Verify GPUs in Windows

First of all, check the Windows Device Manager and verify that both GPUs appear on the list of hardware devices and they are enabled.
