How to fix issues on Windows with laptops using hybrid graphics (dual GPU)?

Hybrid graphics overview

Hybrid graphics is a hardware configuration with two graphics cards that can work in tandem.

This setup is common in laptops with an integrated graphics processor (iGPU) and a discrete graphics processor (dGPU) from NVIDIA or AMD.

Display drivers should detect when an application requires high-performance graphics.

However, this detection often fails for Genymotion Desktop on Windows.

Therefore, it is necessary to force the high-performance GPU globally by configuring the GPU settings.

Prerequisites

Important: use the latest drivers for both the integrated (iGPU) and discrete (dGPU) graphics processing units.

If the drivers are not up to date, update them before proceeding.

Verify GPUs are present and enabled

Open Windows Device Manager.

Verify that both GPUs appear in the list of hardware devices.

Verify that both GPUs are enabled.

NVIDIA Optimus (NVIDIA high-performance discrete GPU)
