This page describes how Genymotion Desktop licenses are registered and managed. The guide is intended for Genymotion Desktop users.
Registering a license key
A license key can only be used by one person on one computer and a spare.
Genymotion Desktop automatically connects to the user account to check the validity of the license key.
If the user is offline, the device must connect to the Internet after 15 days. This behavior ensures nobody else uses the license.
Already signed in
- If Genymotion has been used before and a user is already logged in, go to Settings and navigate to the Account tab.
- Click on the license field labeled “Use my license key” and paste the license key.
- Click NEXT.
- If successful, the details of the license are displayed.
- A valid and activated Genymotion account must be linked to the license key.
First run
- Run Genymotion Desktop for the first time.
- Launch Genymotion Desktop to authenticate to Genymotion.
- If an account does not exist, create a Genymotion account.
- In the Usage window, select “I have a license” and click NEXT.
- Enter the license key and click NEXT to finish setting up Genymotion Desktop.
Managing licenses
Once a license is validated, the license details can be viewed on the Genymotion website in the user settings at any time.
To manage licenses, sign in to the Genymotion account page and go to the Orders tab.
- Current License: The license key currently registered to the account, with its validity period. Click Download Genymotion to download Genymotion Desktop or Extend license to renew the license.
- Not attributed: The license has not been registered in Genymotion Desktop yet. See the preceding chapter.
- Other Licenses: All licenses already purchased with their validity periods, as well as their related user accounts and e-mails. You can renew all these licenses by clicking Extend licenses for 1 year.
To renew licenses and add some new ones at the same time, two separate transactions must be performed.
