> Important: QEMU is the default hypervisor and should be preferred over VirtualBox on Linux: it provides better compatibility and performances. If you were using VirtualBox with a previous version of Genymotion Desktop, we recommend switching to QEMU hypervisor.

QEMU is the default hypervisor on Linux and should be preferred over VirtualBox.

If you were using VirtualBox with a legacy version of Genymotion Desktop, and you are getting an error, we recommend instead.

You are using an unsupported distribution

Make sure to use one of our supported distributions:

Other distributions, such as Kali Linux, Arch Linux or Linux Mint, are not officially supported.

Your hardware does not meet Genymotion Desktop requirements

Make sure your computer meets Genymotion Desktop requirements.

Your environment is incompatible

Genymotion Desktop has been designed to run in a physical environment, not in a virtual machine.

For this reason, Linux VMs or Cloud machines are not compatible.
