macOS Installation Guide
Supported versions
Genymotion Desktop has been fully tested on macOS Sequoia (15) and Sonoma (14).
Other versions are not or no longer supported.
Rosetta must be enabled on mac M series.
Hypervisor
Genymotion Desktop requires a hypervisor to run the Android system.
QEMU is the default hypervisor.
VirtualBox is a legacy hypervisor.
Genymotion Desktop works as-is with an embedded QEMU hypervisor based on macOS Hypervisor.
There is no need to install any extra software.
Using the VirtualBox hypervisor on macOS is not recommended.
The VirtualBox hypervisor is available only on old Macs with Intel x86_64 CPUs.
VirtualBox is not included in the DMG package.
VirtualBox must be installed prior to Genymotion Desktop.
Download the VirtualBox DMG package for macOS (Intel only).
Install VirtualBox.
Go to macOS System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General.
Click the Allow button.
If an error occurs when launching Genymotion Desktop, reboot your Mac.
Genymotion Desktop Installation
Open genymotion-X.Y.Z.dmg package.
Drag and drop Genymotion and Genymotion Shell to the Applications directory.
