Can Genymotion Android emulator also play games?

Yes, but with limits. Genymotion can run some games, especially ARM64 ones, yet many won’t work if they need unsupported features or detect root. See Can I play games with Genymotion? and How to play games with Genymotion?

For best compatibility, use ARM64 images and Aurora Store instead of Google Play when needed. On Genymotion Desktop, many games work better on Apple Mac M series, while PC and Mac Intel have more limitations.
