I won't use a physical webcam! Tell me alternatives so I can use an emulated device!?

Yes — you can use media files instead of a physical webcam. Genymotion Desktop lets you inject image, video, or audio files as the device camera or microphone input, and it also supports Custom media for camera input. See Camera and Media Injection and Genymotion Desktop.

What you can use

• Video files as front or back camera input
• Image files as camera input
• Audio files as microphone input
• Custom media to drag and drop a file directly into the camera source

How to do it

1. Open the Camera and Media Injection widget.

2. Choose a media source instead of a webcam.

3. Add your file from the media folder or use Browse with Custom media.

4. Select the file as the camera input.

Notes

• This works in Genymotion Desktop.
• The feature is not available in Genymotion PaaS at this time.
• On Windows, some media files may need codecs.
